This is a really quick update for the crazy internets. I graduated from uni with a 2-1 overall and a first on my dissertation, I obtained a teaching qualification, to teach English abroad. I fell in love again, but she had to move away, and despite my willingness to sacrifice certain aspects of my lifestyle for her, namely the country in which I choose to live, she dumped my sorry ass. Turns out she lied to me, and having said she loved me, chose to pull the feminine 'revoking of love' maneuver, despite telling me she loved me a thousand times during the relationship.

On a lighter note, I played some more rugby, played for the harlequins reserves which is a pretty decent standard.

I am leaving for Japan the day after tomorrow, a month or so of jaunting using the money I saved from university and my rugby exploits. Good times generally. The packing has been an absolute nightmare though, it has to be said. Familial relations are running hot at the moment, as everyone thinks I am abandoning them; which I am, but I don't want them to think that.

That's all really.

Ciao for now.

Holy crap, sorry I haven't replied. I literally haven't been on here for a year; I only came on here to try and find a picture I lost.

Regarding your question, every time I've written something for non-academic purposes I just write the first thing that comes into my head, and depending on how much I like it, I'll revise it. With song lyrics, and I'll admit to having limited experience with this, I was asked to work around a tune that was already formed - so I listened to it a few times, and again wrote the first things that came into my head. I have zero musical knowledge, so it was more a sung poem, than a song, if that makes sense. I think the trick to most writing is revising everything as many times as you can bear; the first draft will always be poor and have many mistakes, but don't be discouraged, aim high, and revise often, leaving gaps between each writing session.

I hope this helps, and apologies for the belated reply...
